The Head Girl Team

This year we have created more pupil leadership roles than ever to reflect the interest, diversity, maturity and social awareness of our pupils. This year, Khadija Elkheder has the honour of being our Head Girl. Khadija is supported by a wonderful group of Deputy Head Girls, Assistant Head Girls and Lead Prefects within a larger Head Girls’ Team. These students have a wide range of experiences that we would like to introduce to you below. You will meet many of them at school events in the next academic year, so please chat with them and find out more about them and their roles and interests.

Sports Captains

Our Sports Captains and Vice Captains have always supported the PE department and this year is no different. Evie Singleton is our Sports Captain, with Lexie Heys as her Deputy.  Holly Diver and Erica Oakes are supporting them as Assistants with Ashika Bhikea and Edith Chung as Sports Leaders.  Their roles will enable wider participation in sport throughout school and provide the positive role models that are so important to younger students.

Prefects and Leadership Teams

We also have a team of 60 prefects who support lunch time staff in ensuring outside time and exercise is had by lower school pupils. They give up one lunch time a week to fulfil their duties. We also have four new leadership teams this year in Diversity, SEND, Pride and EAL. They will raise awareness of their area throughout school, present assemblies, prepare events and keep their notice board up to date with current affairs and local events that would interest the school community.

Hi, I am Khadija Elkheder and I am the Head Girl. I am proud to have this role and be part of the Head Girls’ Team. In my free time I enjoy reading and various forms of art. For next year, I hope to maximise my final year at Fairfield High School by becoming closer with the students and staff. I hope to achieve this by creating new clubs and participating at any given chance possible.

During my time here, I have loved studying French and Biology, and am particularly grateful for the many opportunities and experiences I have been offered in the STEM departments. I have always felt capable of succeeding here at Fairfield as a result, and as part of the Head Girls’ Team, I hope to encourage more girls to take an interest in STEM subjects and to help inspire the new generation of female scientists to work hard for their dream no matter what!
